The phantom headless monk of Shepperton

One of the most well-known folk law legends of Shepperton has to be the headless monk

The monk is said to haunt his residential area in Shepperton.

He was once an active monk of Chertsey Abbey who broke his vows to marry his beloved partner. Unfortunately for him, his brothers were more loyal to the Abbey, he was pursued by them and beheaded for his sin.

His ghost now roams the area where he once live (now a residential area in Shepperton, home to many locals), running through the village, trying to escape his brothers

… So for those of you living in Shepperton wondering what those bumps in the night could be, or for those of you feeling the hairs on the back of your neck when you visit Shepperton.

Don’t worry, it’s possibly just the harmless phantom headless monk of Shepperton, just searching for his head
