    During the Great War, 3068 men were sentenced to death. Whilst 90% of the sentences were commuted, 345 men were shot by firing squad and their deaths became steeped in controversy. This talk covers the background to the events, the legal arguments, both contemporary and after the war, and the individual stories of some of the more notorious cases.

    Organised by the Surrey branch of the Western Front Association; Entrance is free, although a contribution at the door is always welcome to help with our expenses and £3 is suggested. There is a book raffle, tea & coffee and biscuits and books about the Great War are usually available for sale.
