    Hi,
I don’t know many B&B in Guildford and find that most High Street hotels are quite expensive (£120 per night and per person on average, bah). I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good but reasonably priced B&B or family hotel in Guildford? I have only found one so far, a B&B called Portland Terrace (http://www.portlandterrace.co.uk/). I was unsure at first because it really does not look like a traditional B&B (see pic below), and indeed it’s more like a self catering bedsit than a B&B, but the house is prettily decorated, very clean, cosy and cute, the owners are lovely people and the rate is very reasonable. The only downside (from my point of view) is that they don’t do traditional English breakfast :)

So if anyone knows of a more traditional but reasonably priced B&B in Guildford, I would love to hear from them! Thanks.

My parents and my little brother stayed in a family room at Portland Terrace and they were very happy too. It was cheap (something like £75 per night) and really clean and pleasant. They had full access to the kitchen so they could cook dinner, etc. Really good value. Next time they come visit however I think I will try to get them a room at the Albany Pub, just for a change… and also because they like their English breakfasts ;)

This is perfect. Me and my wife are planning a trip to Surrey to see the place she grew up in :) It’s been hard to find something good but http://www.portlandterrace.co.uk/ seems like a place to be. I don’t know, there don’t seem to be that many well-advertised Bed and Breakfast in Guildford. I’ve been looking for a few days and this is my first good hit. Normally I find a good B&B with
Wimdu, but in case of Guildford I had little luck even there. Nice to hear that they give you access to the kitchen, I wouldn’t want to spend an entire week without the wonderful dinners my missus makes. Locations seems to be OK as well.

I guess it’s set then. We’re going to Surrey. From what I hear, it might be a start for a permanent move to. Mrs. Jack has a bit of a nostalgia crush on Surrey.
